For the exam year, we are asked to create a “masterpiece” which can be anything we want that shows our personal expertise. In my case, I decided to create my very own Tarot set.
I’ve been reading tarot for 13 years now, taught by my mother, so it is something that is very close to me personally. I offer free and paid tarot readings online, and for a couple of years not it has been a dream of mine to make my very own set.
Tarot isn’t used to predict the future, but instead to receive insight into yourself or a situation. It’s the ultimate form of self-reflection if you ask me.
The Inner Dimensions
I decided to call my set Inner Dimensions tarot because that is what it does. It reveals your own inner dimensions, the layers of life within yourself. It is the ultimate self-discovery and empowering tool. In the end, when we understand ourselves, we receive the power to shape our own reality, our own future. Of course, it’s not easy, and this isn’t achieved overnight. This is an ongoing process. But a process that helps you grow.
What’s different about my set that other sets don’t have? Questions. Questions that can only be answered by you if you dare to dive deep within yourself. Another thing is that I try not to go the route of traditional depiction for the cards.
The end goal of this project is to have a full 78 card deck ready and printed by the end of 2019, if not sooner. Because this is part of my masterpiece, which needs to be done around the end of 2018, I will only be making the Major Arcana, consisting of 22 cards, for my exam piece, in print form. If all goes well I do intend to sell it to the public, as I know there are already people interested in getting it.
